Forest Bathing is about discarding our learnt behaviours and returning to our true, authentic selves. It’s about breathing with the trees so that we may reconnect to what is real, release what is stuck, and feel grounded once more. Through spending time in the woods, we can soothe our nervous systems which are so dysregulated from time spent in the fast paced, tech based modern world - begin to heal. Begin to feel what it is to slow down, feel the energy from the plants and trees, to listen to the sounds of nature. I loved creating this piece. After a weekend spent frolicking in the forest and feeling completely regenerated, it just flowed from my fingers. The gentleness of the woman is how I feel when I am in the woods; as if I have entered a sacred place and need to tread lightly, be gentle, be still. To bathe in the ancient wisdom all around.
