  • About

In the foothills of Mount Ida, known as Mountain of the Goddess in ancient times, we gather for a week long retreat. We will wake, eat and practice together with incredible views of this sacred mountain. We’ll explore the old ways of the ancient greeks and the even older Minoan’s, who were matrifocal and worshipped the Goddess. Each day we’ll be working with ritual, embodied movement, myth and art practices to deepen our relationship to earth and Her. We’ll be pilgrims, visiting sacred sites. The Goddess was worshipped outside, in cave shrines and peak sanctuaries. We’ll be hiking, making art and leaving offerings.

This is for the creative hearts that long to gather in devotion and remember the old ways of being with land.

  • The Flow

We’ll spend early mornings in silence, with group ritual, creative time and embodiment practice before sharing a hearty community breakfast with views across the mountains. The daytimes will be filled with hiking, pilgrimages to sacred sites or art workshops. Wherever we go we’ll bring sketchbooks and journals. We’ll have some time to regather and relax by the pool in the afternoons before a delicious 3 course dinner together on the terrace. Evening will be a time for creative practice, rest or a sunset stroll depending on the day.

  • Land, Food, Accommodation

Nestled in a beautiful valley in the heart of Crete, amongst ancient olive and cherry trees, the villa has been in the care of the same family for generations and is made from beautiful old stone and traditional materials. Each bedroom is comfy and cosy, with options to share or have a private room. We’ll be waking to the mountains with views of Mount Ida, Mountain of the Goddess and birthplace of the Gods. Our practice space is set in a private courtyard, guarded by ancient olive trees. There is a private pool, patios, terraces and rooftop to lounge, relax, paint or read. The local village is beautiful and traditional, full of Byzantine architecture and stunning views. We’ll be eating hearty and nourishing meals with locally sourced ingredients and authentic greek recipes cooked by dear Mrs Rumy. Depending on the day we will enjoy a large brunch and 3 course dinner or smaller breakfast, lunch and 3 course dinner. There will be plenty of teas, fresh fruits and snacks for between meals. All diets can be catered for.
